Thanks for doing this study.  It's so great to find things taught from the New Covenant, "new man"  perspective!!  So many churches are teaching a mixture of law and grace.  This is a breath of fresh air.

Wow! Great job on Hebrews 4:12! It has always been preached about the division of soul and spirit with the word ’from’ and how the soul is bad - the spirit is perfect. Using the correct word ‘and’ you both explained it perfectly! Thank you!

'ABIDING IN LOVE - 1,2,3 JOHN BIBLE STUDY' OUTLINE:

When you join today, you'll be guided through the following 14 days (though you can go at your own pace)...

Video 1 – Identity and the Beloved Disciple
In this first session, we explore 1 John 1:1-7 through the lens of identity. John, the Beloved Disciple, writes from a deep awareness of being loved by Christ. His letters invite us to read not just as theology but as the overflow of intimacy with God—showing how knowing who we are shapes how we live and understand His Word.

Video 2 – Self-Deception and Confession of Sin
In 1 John 1:8-2:3, John warns against self-deception—believing we are “okay” when we’re not. Confession isn’t about condemnation but about honesty that opens the way for cleansing, freedom, and restored intimacy with God.

Video 3 – Knowing God Through Obedience
In this lesson, we explore 1 John 2:4–8, where John links knowing God with keeping His commandments. At first, it can sound like a harsh standard or even an excuse to judge others. But John’s point is that obedience flows naturally from intimacy with God—not from performance or perfection. True knowledge of Him transforms us from the inside out, and that change shows up in how we live.

Video 4 – Love as the Mark of Light
This teaching unpacks 1 John 2:9–17, showing that love is the evidence of walking in the light. John warns that hatred blinds us and keeps us in darkness, no matter what we claim about our faith. Love, on the other hand, clears the path—keeping us from stumbling and revealing that Christ’s light is truly in us.

Video 5 – Living in the Last Hour
In this lesson on 1 John 2:18-25, John shifts the focus to “the last hour,” reminding us that no matter our stage of maturity—child, young person, or father in the faith—we are all God’s children. He warns of antichrists already at work, urging believers to remain alert and rooted in truth. The teaching emphasizes living with urgency, not in fear, but in steadfast confidence as God’s children in uncertain times.

Video 6 – Guarding Against Deception
In this lesson on 1 John 2:26-3:6, John warns about those who try to deceive believers. The encouragement is clear—we don’t have to live deceived. God has given us His Word and His Spirit, a perfect partnership that keeps us anchored in truth. When we lean on both, we can recognize deception and walk in confidence.

Video 7 – Practicing Righteousness
In 1 John 3:7–16, John calls believers to live out righteousness, reminding us that our actions reveal who we belong to. Sin aligns with the enemy, but righteousness reflects the life of Christ within us. This passage points to Jesus’ mission—to destroy the works of the devil—and shows us how living as beloved children empowers us to walk in that victory.

Video 8 – Knowing Love by the Cross
In 1 John 3:16, John echoes the famous John 3:16, showing that love is defined by Christ laying down His life for us. That same love calls us to lay down our lives for one another. This lesson highlights that love isn’t just a feeling but a sacrificial action, rooted in abiding in Him.

Video 9 – Testing the Spirits
In 1 John 4:1-9, John urges believers not to accept every spirit at face value but to test whether it is truly from God. With many false voices in the world, discernment is essential. This lesson highlights the role of the Holy Spirit in helping us recognize truth, guard against deception, and walk in clarity.

Video 10 – God’s Love First
In 1 John 4:10-25, John reminds us that love begins with God—not with us. He loved us first and proved it by sending His Son as the sacrifice for our sins. This lesson emphasizes how receiving that love transforms everything, freeing us from striving and anchoring us in the unshakable reality: we are loved.

Video 11 – Believing and Belonging
In 1 John 5:1-12, John teaches that everyone who truly believes Jesus is the Christ is born of God—and that belief goes deeper than words. Real faith flows from the heart and brings transformation. This lesson shows how belief leads to new birth, genuine love for God, and love for His children.

Video 12 – Assurance of Eternal Life
In 1 John 5:13-21, John writes so believers can know with confidence that they have eternal life. This lesson emphasizes assurance—not wishful thinking, but certainty rooted in Christ. John calls us to continue believing, walking daily in the security of God’s promise.

Video 13 – Introduction to 2 John
In this session, we step into 2 John, where the writer identifies himself as “the elder.” While some debate the authorship, the lesson explains why it is most likely the Apostle John, writing with authority as one who walked with Jesus. This introduction sets the stage for understanding John’s pastoral heart and his call to truth and love in the church.

Video 14 – Closing Reflections from 3 John
In this final session, we look at the closing words of 3 John, which echo the ending of 2 John—simple, relational, and heartfelt. The lesson reflects on the value of authentic fellowship and prayer, reminding us that walking with God isn’t about rigid standards but about relationship, love, and daily dependence on Him. It serves as a fitting wrap-up to John’s letters, centering us on intimacy with Christ and genuine connection with others.
